1000 album project
I listened to 1000 albums in a year...
From May 2024 to May 2025 I set myself the insane challenge of listening to 1000 albums in a year. And… I did it! I am still listening to albums every day and below you can find a list of all the albums I have listened to as a part of the project as well as the rating I gave each one.
How do I choose which albums to listen to?
I use the 1001 Album Generator (based off the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, in addition to Rolling Stone’s Top 500 Albums, Grammy winners, new releases, and recommendations.
How does my rating system work?
I rate based not on how influential an album is, or how good, or how important. I rate purely based on my own personal enjoyment of the listening experience, and believe that (most) of these albums were worth my time, even if I did not enjoy them. 1-2 stars means I in general did not enjoy the album, while 3-5 stars means I did. A 5 star album is one I would like to own on vinyl, and I use this list as a sort of wish list for my music collection.
